Interesting and rare 1940's octal-based glass triodes manufactured for US miltary in the United States by Hytron. These tubes are designed as VHF oscillators or audio amplifiers, some say the letter E designates for export; similar in many ways to triode 6J5. Two top caps, one for the grid, and the other for the anode. Bottom getters, solid horizontal black plate construction with mica spacers. Tube bases are printed HYTRON VT-232 MADE IN U.S.A., SC7382A. Glass etched U.S. E1148 MADE IN U.S.A. and production date (varies, mostly early 1940's). VT232 vacuum tube
